About Spectra Soccer Association

Meet Jean, Founder and Director of Coaching at Spectra Soccer Association

With a passion for soccer that spans over 50 years, Jean brings a wealth of experience and expertise to Spectra Soccer Association. As a USA D license coach Jean has honed his skills in youth soccer coaching, with 6 years of experience in Illinois, USA, and 6 years of coaching regional league teams in DR Congo. Jean’s coaching philosophy centers around using soccer as a tool to develop essential life skills, particularly leadership. A graduate of the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, Jean believes that leadership is a skill that can be developed, and it's a crucial aspect of personal growth. He has applied this philosophy in his work with youth players, helping them build confidence, teamwork, and decision-making abilities on and off the field.

Many of the young players he has coached have gone to play at a professional level both locally and internationally. In addition to his coaching experience, Jean has played soccer at a high level, earning college scholarships and playing in regional leagues. He continues to play and stay connected to the game through his involvement with Elmhurst United FC, a social soccer group in Elmhurst, Illinois. Jean is dedicated to sharing his passion for soccer with the next generation, and his vision for Spectra Soccer Association is to create a supportive and inclusive environment where youth can grow, learn, and thrive through the beautiful game.

About Spectra Soccer Association

Spectra Soccer Association was created with one clear goal in mind: to help kids grow through the game of soccer. While we are a newer organization, our approach is intentional and personal. We keep our programs small so we can focus on what matters most, giving each child the attention, encouragement, and coaching they need to improve.

We believe every child develops differently. That’s why we spend time working with players individually, helping them build strong fundamentals, confidence on the ball, and the mindset needed to compete. Our focus goes beyond wins and losses. We care about skill development, effort, sportsmanship, and helping kids believe in themselves.

Our coaches are experienced, knowledgeable, and deeply connected to the Bensenville area. As parents and community members ourselves, we understand what families want for their children: a safe, positive environment where kids can learn, be challenged, and have fun. We coach with patience, encouragement, and high standards, pushing players to improve while making sure they enjoy the game.

At Spectra Soccer Association, soccer is a tool for growth. Kids learn how to work hard, handle challenges, build confidence, and enjoy being part of a team. Whether your child is just starting out or looking to take their game to the next level, we are here to support their development every step of the way.

We’re proud to be building something special for local families and helping kids develop skills that matter both on and off the field.
